Last week on Post Academic (5/9-5/15)
At the end of one week and the beginning of another, we catch our collective breath on the blog and gather up links to some of the posts that have either cycled off the home page or might have been lost in the shuffle. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and thanks for reading!
* For all you Homi Bhabha aficionados out there, we have not one, not two, but kind-of three posts namechecking this best-dressed Bostonite and bad writing contest “winner” (Hint: he’s answer #1 on the “quiz”.)
* Caroline doles out some practical advice for transitioning to the hamster world, like saving up for a rainy day and letting go of some of your most prized academic assets, your publications. BTW, Susan Basalla, author of the how-to guide So What Are You Going to Do with That? basically offered the latter tip when she spoke at UCI last Thursday.
* Arnold answered a call posted on the MLA Twitter feed to comment on Pres. Sidonie Smith’s suggestions for reforming the dissertation process. He did here and here and here (with poll!)–and the MLA listened!
